The Lost Bracelet
Many years ago, in a home just like yours,
Lived a little girl, Naomi was her name.
Very pretty, and very happy was she.
She had a mommy and a daddy and a big oak tree.
Six years old, very big in her eyes,
But a child still was she...and that day, she started to cry..
For not but a week ago, with her mother, shopping she did go..
And a beautiful bracelet she and her mother did buy.
It didn't cost a lot, but very special it was!
With colors of green, red and blue,
And on it hung trinkets, lovely, its true.
There was a lamb, a heart, a cross and a dove,
And this little bracelet Naomi did love.
On her wrist it it looked so pretty,
She loved it so much that from morning til night
It was always in sight.
The sad day came when she was playing around
The bracelet came off
Nowhere to be found!!!
"Mommy, Mommy!" cried the young child,
"My bracelet is gone, nowhere to be found!"
Mother was gentle, loving and kind.
"Fret not, dear child, you will find it in time.
God knows you love it, and miss it even more.
He knows where it is, somewhere on the floor."
"Mommy, Mommy, that is fine, but I want it now! It is mine!"
"Yours it is not, for all things are God's. Have it you will....
If it is GOD'S WILL."
Days and weeks passed by and by..
Soon no longer did Naomi cry.
Weeks to months, and months to years,
Over that bracelet were no more tears.
Naomi grew up, and had a family of her own
In the very same house that was always her home.
Naomi had a daughter, her name was Ruth.
She was young and cute with one missing tooth.
Ruth was always playing around..and
Behind that old couch one day, what do you think she found?
A bracelet! It's true! ..with colors
Of red, green and blue!
Trinkets it had, two and two,
A lamb, and a heart,
And a cross,
And a dove!
She picked up the bracelet and fell so in love!
"Mother, Mother! Come and see!
A bracelet have I!" She shouted with glee.
Naomi looked on, and in her surprise,
She thought of her own mother, so kind and so wise.
All things are God's,
For all things He did make.
Naomi said, "Thank you, Lord, for letting me lose my toy,
For to see my daughter have it, is the greater joy!
